Teeth Whitening

There are a variety of teeth whitening options to provide patients a brighter, whiter smile.

  • In-office: Zoom!® Whitening, a professional teeth whitening procedure, is performed in our dental office. You’ll leave our office with an instantly brighter, more confident smile!

  • At-home: Our dental professionals will take an impression of your mouth to create a custom-fitted bleaching tray. This bleaching tray will be supplemented with a whitening gel to utilize at home based on the instructions provided by your Dentist.

For minor whitening needs, whitening toothpastes help remove surface stain through mild abrasives. Unlike at-home bleaching trays, whitening toothpastes do not change the color of teeth but do remove stains on the tooth surface.

INVISALIGN®

Dr. D’Occhio is a certified provider in Invisalign®, an alternative to braces. The customized-for-you Invisalign® translucent alignment trays are digitally planned to move your teeth into the proper alignment without any wires or brackets.

The initial consultation and subsequent office visits will consist of a digital scan of your teeth, customized treatment plan, creation of clear aligners, and periodic progress checks. Please call our office for more information, and to schedule your complimentary consultation (appointment required).

Bonding

Dental Bonding is a procedure in which a tooth-colored resin material (a durable plastic) is applied and hardened with a special light, which ultimately "bonds" to the tooth to restore or improve person's smile.  While your Dentist will determine if Bonding is the appropriate treatment for your dental needs, Bonding is often used to repair decayed, chipped, or cracked teeth, improve the appearance of teeth including discoloration, shape and size of teeth.

Bonding - Consultation, Process, and Benefits

The surface of the tooth will be roughened and a conditioning liquid applied. The tooth-colored, putty-like material is molded and smoothed to the desired shape. An ultraviolet light is then used to harden the material. After the material is hardened, your Dentist will further trim, shape, and polish it to match the rest of the tooth surface.  Bonding can be performed in about 30-60 minutes per tooth. Dental Bonding improves the appearance of teeth.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are thin pieces of porcelain used to recreate the natural look of teeth while also providing strength and resilience comparable to natural tooth enamel.  Porcelain veneers are a  successful option in many situations where the original tooth has developed poor color, shape, and contours.

Veneer - Consultation, Process, and Benefits

Your Dentist will analyze your smile to determine and communicate what steps are necessary to achieve the smile you desire, including if veneers are the right option for your dental needs and preferences.

Veneers are individually created for each patient; it is nearly impossible to tell the difference between a veneer and a natural tooth. Notably, unlike natural teeth, custom-made veneers resist coffee and tea stains, and cigarette smoke because they are made of high-tech materials.  For teeth that resist whitening, veneers can make even the darkest teeth appear bright white.
